Jon Rubinstein has been working in the entertainment industry for over twenty years, having accidentally wandered into it after driving to Los Angeles in a van he and Amy bought for $200. One transmission, one alternator, and many quarts of oil later, Jon found himself inexplicably sucked into the vortex called “showbiz” which later spat him out on the streets of New York City.

Lately, he finds himself inspired by writing in the third person, by marveling at his stunning children (he’s not at all biased), studying Italian (è vero!), CrossFit, training in mixed martial arts, watching UFC fights, reading the poetry of Mary Oliver (have you read Have You Ever Tried to Enter the Long Black Branches? You should. Jon has a line from it tattooed on his back. For realz.), studying the dharma, meditating, and practicing Muay Thai combos with his magical beautiful wonderful wife of sixteen years, the aforementioned Amy. “Of sixteen years,” meaning they’ve been married for sixteen years. She’s older than sixteen. Just sayin’. He’ll travel anywhere, anytime, because he loves visiting new places and meeting new people; he once went to St. Petersburg, Russia for 36 hours.

Jon has written extensively about applying Buddhist principles to the workplace, most recently for The Interdependence Project’s semi-popular blog. He’s currently planning a cage fight for the fall (again, for realz), and devising Authentic’s next foray into changing the world.
